Hi Loft & Cottage readers! I am so pleased to be here sharing some of my autumnal inspiration while Casey is off galavanting around Italy (how jealous are we, by the way?!). Casey is a fellow Connecticut gal, so she and I could probably go on and on about the thrill of seeing the seasonal spectacle of a New England fall.
This may be an unpopular stance, but I can never seem to wait for the fall to arrive. Summer and its beautiful weather practically require us to be on-the-go, but the shortening days and cooler weather of autumn remind us to slow down, cozy up, and spend more time at home. More time for cider, more time for crafts, more time for playoff baseball, more time for pumpkin bread...you get the idea!
Since we spend considerably more time at home during the next few months, I think it's always fun to pay extra attention to our homes, am I right? There are so many autumn-themed crafts that can bring the season indoors, like these:
Martha Stewart's paper fall foliage wreath (which I made myself—it was so easy!)
Linen napkins in preparation for Thanksgiving (I intend to make these this fall!)
An ombre garland made from dried strawflowers.
However, if crafting isn't your thing, you can still celebrate the fall season in your home with these beautiful pieces:
This woven pillow reminds us all that plaid can be very chic.
Why not cozy up with a good book in this plush velvet chair?
No scent seems more appropriate for the season than Diptyque's take on firewood.
I can attest that these spices make any store-bought cider taste like something straight from a farm stand.
Happy fall, everyone!
Casey, thank you again for letting me be a part of Loft & Cottage today!

This is a great round up of fall projects. I really like those napkins trimmed in warm colors. We must be on the same wavelength with the candle Ashley ;)
Nice to see some fall decorating projects that don't include some gross Halloween thing.
All these images made me go out and buy a Carmal Apple Spice at Starbucks! Love the pillow and your wreath turned out great!
Ooooh, Ashley, I hope you do a tutorial when you make those napkins. So cute!
I love these ideas, Ashley. Especially the wreath, which is now going on my to-do list. From grocery bags? Can't get any better than that!
Those napkins are super cute too. Must check that out as well.
