where i'm blogging from

Kate, better known as Centsational Girl, is hosting a fun link party and I couldn't resist joining. Go here to check it out—it's a blast getting a peek into these creative bloggers' spaces.

So here it is, my home office. This is my first time sharing it, and while there's still some work to do here, it's looking good lately thanks to the recent addition to some awesome West Elm curtains (I got them at 20% off but darn, it looks like that sale is over). Anyway, I loooove them. Here's a closeup:

They add so much to the room, including height (I hung them high), sun and light control (those are big french doors there), interesting pattern, and warmth. Oh, and style!

Let's step back a bit though and get the tour, from what you see when you enter...

to the view to the deck. Sometimes I get a little distracted gazing out there.

Remember the vintage trunk I got at Brimfield? It is now a printer stand—and incredible storage for office supplies.

The other side of the room, where stuff gets stashed, er, organized.

I could use a new (larger) message board over this credenza, or maybe this should be an art wall. Also, see below: I still have nothing on the wall behind the desk.

That fabric leaning in the corner is to be my bedroom draperies, and the bamboo I'll use for the rods.

There are too many choices for what to put on that blank wall. Huge chalkboard? Or I've kinda been wanting to decoupage the whole thing with maps. Your thoughts? I'll leave you with this closeup. Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Your office is beautiful! I love the rug. I have been admiring it in it's many colors. It goes well with the drapes. Where did you get the bamboo that you plan to use as rods? I was thinking of the same but I haven't seen any.

Hi ya, I just found you through Centsational Girl and your space is fantastic. I can see why you get distracted by having your deck right there, I would too! I'm loving your chair and your black lamp, super cute! I'm a follower now, come check out my blog at 1funkywoman.blogspot.com

Thanks, everyone! Anita, I adore the Dash & Albert rug--it is great looking but so heavy duty and cleanable too. You should totally get one. The bamboo I got at Ocean State Job Lot of all places. I tend to avoid places like that--they always feel so dirty and cheap--but every once in a while you can find some good stuff.

Casey, you are a girl after my own heart. I love your green walls and natural elements. All of these bloggers with windows are making me want to move the desk around. I vote for a huge bulletin board - making one eventually myself.

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog! I just came on over to check yours and love it! I will be a frequent visitor from here on out! Nice to meet you! Your space is great! I love your mason jar on your desk with the flowers. So simple but so chic! I vote for the chalkboard idea. Kinda vintage and rustic style chalkboard! I think it would stick with the clean lines in your room but give it the laid back feel your wanting! -Jess

Case! Your office looks so great!! I recommend a huge blackboard with a distressed frame. I have been into the chalk pens lately (the ones Starbucks uses on their blackboards). You can draw and write in beautiful detail and they come in every color under the sun. XOXO

What a beautiful space you created! I am working on my home office and was looking for a similar desk. Would you mind revealing the source?
Thank you!

Hi Macioleks, the desk is from a local source, but the manufacturer is Martin Furniture. I believe it's their Loft collection. Thanks for the compliments and good luck!
