dressing up a fireplace for christmas

Today I want to be cozied up in front of one of these fireplaces. I swear I'll take any one of these! I really miss not having a fireplace this time of year. It's such a special place to gather, not to mention a decorating dream. Don't these fireplaces look so charming all dressed up for Christmas?

Love the quiet contrast here, all the white and then the cozy brown velvet.

Perfect simplicity.

Warm wood and brick and a rustic yet elegant feel.

Adore those pears and the burlap ribbons.

Which would you pick?

If I was just looking at the mantels, I'd pick the 3rd one - love the black and brick. But the first and last one are my favorite decorated pics!

These are all perfect to me. I like to see organic and natural textures in neutral colors for the holidays. I would probably pick the first or second one.

I love the pears and burlap. I think the contrast of textures is wonderful!

I've always wished for a fireplace to gather around with friends or those cold afternoons while knitting (and of course to decorate this time of year!)
It's nice to find your blog Casey!

Do you have a shelf or maybe an upright piano that could take the place of a mantle? They always do look so pretty decked out at this time of the year.
