open bar

How lovely is this bar in an antique cabinet?

Stylist Camille Soulayrol

It's not unusual to see a cabinet like this built out as a bar, but it is unusual to see one with no doors. I love that! And I would love to find a similar vintage piece and repurpose it as done here into a bar or some sort of kitchen storage. Then I saw this stunner on Erin's blog.

This is Zoe from Urban Home. She would so be happy at home in my kitchen, I just know it. I'd outfit her as an open china cabinet with stacked dishes, rows of glasses, neatly folded table linens, and a few baskets thrown in for storing smaller items.

So I am still definitely obsessed with open kitchen storage. And you? Love or hate? I will share more inspiration in tomorrow's post.

I tend to like to hide things, but I'm kind of liking this look for a casual, relaxed kitchen.

I do love it Casey and I think it would be the perfect addition to your beautiful kitchen. Love those rustic wooden crates in the first image.

I love the look and wish we would've considered it for our kitchen. My friend has a v. similar piece (from Urban Home) that she got at an auction and uses it in her daughter's play room to house toys, books, etc. That piece is stunning!

A great way to repurpose a TV armoire that most of us have lying around. Would much rather have a drink at the ready than a TV!

Oooh Zoe is beautiful! Open kitchen shelving is really growing on me, but I just hate dusting so much (and never do it) that I fear it would become a health violation in my own home!

I like the look. I plan on incorporating it when I finally remodel my kitchen. Not all cabinets will be open but probably about half of them.
