room of the week

I've never felt the need to do a room of the week feature, until now. I guess lately I'm really starting to see some that are so worthy. And this week's has nothing to do with the holiday, though those chandeliers have a bit of sparkle, and I wouldn't mind cooking breakfast and gathering here on Christmas morning.

See, kitchen plans around our house had slowed way down...until I saw this ad for Aya Kitchens in the latest House & Home, and it got us talking again.

I'm especially loving the simple cabinet style and rich color. The hardware. The rustic open shelving. The subway tile. There's not much we don't like, and this may just be guiding us as we get back to the kitchen planning, in the hopes of starting in January. Yay! Happy Monday, all. Enjoy this special week!

I had the exact same response to that Aya ad in H&H!!!! I went to their site to check out the other kitchens and was planning to do a little feature this week too!
Great minds...

This is a great image. I love how it's formal, yet relaxed, modern but cozy - all at once.

This is beautiful - right up my alley. It's hard to tell, but is the hardware gold? I love it. I like the idea of a room of the week. Do you look at the WSJ house of the day at all? There are some amazing homes on there. I actually will probably do a post on it at some point. And I like that you've been patient with your kitchen renovation...it gives you more time to really think about what features are important, etc. But of course we'll be anxious to read when the project gets underway - how exciting!
